Many leaders rise through the operations side of the business with a good handle on project financials — but connecting those numbers to overall company performance is often less familiar.
This session begins with a refresher on basic project financials, including a reminder of the importance of productivity versus production. From there, the focus expands to the company level, helping participants understand how project results ultimately become company profit. An overview of key financial reports and terms will be discussed, such as cash flow, retained earnings, debt and EBITDA, along with how income statements differ from balance sheets. Hands-on exercises will reinforce why tracking production, monitoring cash conversion and maintaining cash reserves are essential to financial health and growth. The session will also cover best practices in change order management, efficient project closeout and improving collections.
SMACNA-Western Washington is pleased to offer specialized Foreman Upgrade Training, a 12-part series scheduled monthly throughout 2025. This training aligns with the terms outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and supports professional development for Foremen and Lead Foremen in our industry.
Upon successful completion of the required 16 CTE hours, eligible foremen may increase their wage from 10% to 12.5% and lead foremen may increase their wage from 15% to 17.5%. Please email admin@smacnaww.org for a copy of the full policy.
Attendees must register for each monthly event.
